Amarna Wanderfoot is a halfing sea captain plying the waters of the Sea of Fallen Stars. She possesses a bold and confident attitude with that that never lets her back down from a challenge. Along with her first mate, Vrorg, she ferries passengers and cargo (sometimes illicit) on her ship, The Smiling Dog.
Vrorg is a seasoned half-orc sailor and first mate of The Smiling Dog. His towering frame and no-nonsense attitude make him the definition of the strong, silent type. Vrorg is loyal to Amarna, almost to a fault, and frequently acts as her bodyguard.
Vrorg and Amarna became lifelong friends when they escaped from a prison in Baldur's Gate. The two never speak of their past, fearing what sort of bounty hunters might come after them.
The Smiling Dog
"You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought."
The Smiling Dog is a patchwork collection of repairs and rigging that barely looks sea-worthy. It was named for the fading artwork adorning its bow, a large canine mouth bearing its teeth. Amarna acquired the ship some years ago in an underground dice game. The Smiling Dog has seen numerous owners, countless battles, and more than its share of illicit cargo.
History
Amarna is longtime friend of Maxwell Cantilever; the two met when Maxwell booked passage aboard her ship. Their friendship grew as Amarna ferried Maxwell all across the Sea of Fallen Stars. They've spent many nights gambling and drinking in seedy taverns. Amarna currently owes Maxwell a drink for helping her fast-talk some customs agents in Marsember.
