Character Sheet

Evendur Moonbeam (eh-ven-DUR) is a half-elf harper agent from Silverymoon. He has soft features and bronze hair, and dresses in fine imported silks and a suit of supple aboleth hide. He is lithe and graceful, and his silver tongue and boyish demeanor easily wrest secrets from those who would rather keep them. As a member of the Harpers organization, Evendur holds life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to be unalienable rights, and willingly fights to uphold this and other self-evident truths. When not plying his charms, Evendur always seems to be terse and direct whether speaking truth or falsehood. He is often aware of the affairs of others, even from across the Silver Marches, and will share this information with his allies. He has a taste for expensive wine, amoral women, and lively music, and he's unlikely to be found anyplace that doesn't boast at least two of these things.

When Deadsnows was freed from Zhentarim influence, and with the Silver Company transporting Ugreth to Citadel Adbar, Evendur elected to focus on finding Forcas Forneus, who had escaped the Harpers' collective notice for some time. The half-elf initially disregarded rumors of the Skymage's appearance in the Moonwood, until he began hearing other rumors of the Silver Company's activities in that forest.

History

Evendur was born in 1329 DR in Silverymoon to Eluréd Moonbeam, a local sun elf lyrist, and Shandra Tindómiel Greycastle, a human flautist from Everlund. Following in his parents' footsteps, Evendur grew to be a talented lutenist with dreams of playing recitals all across Faerûn—and so it would have been, if fate hadn't intervened. During a music festival held in Deepingdale, Evendur had just finished performing in a small amphitheater and was resting "backstage" when a group of armed men began to harass another musician, a human woman, nearby. Evendur was content to not get involved, but when the group began shouting one of them drew a short sword and the half-elf knew he had to intervene. He began to play the Lullaby ritual on his lute, and all but one were so overcome with drowsiness they did not witness the woman's escape. The last drew a handaxe and charged Evendur, but unfortunately for the vagabond, Evendur's father had trained his son in swordplay since he was a youth. With a flick of his wrist, Evendur drew his épée and cut the man down in a single fluid motion.

The other musician seemed distraught (if a bit ungrateful) and she fled, so Evendur followed her. When he finally caught up with her, Evendur demanded some answers and, though he probably didn't deserve them, the woman explained as much as he needed to know and she was at liberty to share. Though she was actually a musician, this particular performance was a cover, a means to get close to a Zhentarim official and gain his confidence. Failing that, she claimed, he was to be assassinated. Evendur knew the organization she represented; though most of the Harpers' deeds went unnoticed, they had gained considerable notoriety in the North and were fast becoming champions of the free peoples of Faerûn. The men who had assaulted this woman (who never gave her real name) were agents of the Zhentarim—her cover had been blown—and now both she and Evendur were in great danger.

What followed was a whirlwind of adventure that Evendur has spoken of with anyone other than Those Who Harp. Evendur, leaving behind his quiet harpist career for an exciting life of medieval espionage, joined the Harpers in 1356 DR and has been extremely active in the Silver Marches and has become known among his peers as a sound judge of character and a talented recruiter for their semi-secret organization.

As a member of the Harpers, Evendur had the adventurers Ivellios Thornblade and Thulsa Doomhammer freed from prison in Deadsnows so they could help him bring down the criminal Vandar. After Vandar's death, Evendur set his sights on removal of all Zhentarim influence in Deadsnows, which he indirectly accomplished through his aid of the Silver Company.
