The Crimson Talon marches on an abandoned dwarven citadel called Stonefang Pass hoping to corner the Blessed Brotherhood there. They are forced to do battle with a pair of necromancers (a masked brunette who appeared to be in charge and her compatriot Claude) and their horde of undead minions. With superior tactics, the Talon drives back the necromancers who demonstrate their ability to take a shadowy incorporeal form and lead the goblins deeper into the long dark of Stonefang Pass. Eventually, they corner the necromancers in a hidden passage, but it may have been the woman's plan after all: another (more powerful) wizard and the necromancers sling spells at one another while the Blessed Brotherhood attacks from hiding with a handful of goliath allies.

Though the battle is difficult, the Crimson Talon is ultimately victorious and slays the Blessed Brotherhood. They move to interfere with the wizard's duel, but soon find they may have been outclassed, even by the necromancer they had appeared to defeat earlier. The goblins eventually flee the tunnel, but not before helping themselves to several powerful artifacts and claiming the heads of all five members of the Blessed Brotherhood to take back to their master in Manan Ba'arin. As they leave, the necromancer Claude is frozen in a column of ice and the Crimson Talon takes it upon themselves to cruelly shatter him into thousands of tiny pieces.

In the following days, the warlord Hrothgar and the assassin Splug are left behind to oversee the fortification of Stonefang Pass while the rest of the Crimson Talon contingent returns to the Stonelands with news of their success.
