October 24, 2007

October 24, 2007 was the seventh night of the D&D Summer 2007 campaign, henceforth known as Blood and Gold. The heroes battled mountain orcs of the Broken Arrow Tribe and then tracked them to their mountain headquarters. 840 Experience Points were awarded to each player character.

Plot Synopsis

Qawm, meditating in the wilderness to gain a new animal companion, was attacked by the worg that has assailed the party for some time. It was driven off by Feldys Oakshadow in elk form. She handed Qawm an edelweiss flower and told him of a missing child, said to be a druid prodigy.

Paron Andris endeavored to find his unidentified surviving ally, presumably Girard Velius. He decided to follow Ivoire de Montauban south to the gold fields, where they met an orc scouting party assaulting the prospectors. Leaping into action, Paron and Qawm met the orcs' charge but were overcome.

Respen Tuin was beaten and clung desperately to life as Zichew Bejiad and Thulsa Doomhammer launched an attack borne of desperation and felled the orc commander. Both sides executed a tactical retreat and the heroes, returning to Deadsnows, raised the alarm.

After a time, the heroes' fears proved unfounded and the town was not assaulted. They returned to the gold fields to find a band of trolls feasting on the cadavers left behind in the previous battle. Paron negotiated passage through the newly annexed "troll lands" and may have incited a coup in the troll caves of the Nether Mountains.

Qawm and his wolf companion tracked the orcs back to their stronghold, a cave on the western face of Mount Oervhek. The heroes were attacked by scouts but managed to silence them. They returned to the village of Deadsnows to formulate a plan.
