Klaus Weiner

Dr. Johannes Klaus Weiner is a principal xenologist in the Imperial Science Division currently working on Pantano conducting research on the Pantano eel. While being ambushed by the crew of the Cantina Turner, both of Klaus's legs and an arm were severed with a mining laser at the knees and elbow.

Plot hooks

Assuming he doesn't bleed out or get eaten by eels, an angry German scientist with robotic limbs sounds like a lazy, golden age comic book villain.

Behind the scenes

There's no connection to Klaus Meine, the Scorpions frontman, it just sounds a little similar. I named him Weiner because it sounds like "whiner" in English (which he does lots of), which I guess is coincidentally a winemaker (which I drink lots of).
