The Oda clanhold was the ancestral home of the Pantano Oda Rodian clan, a fortified fishing village of about eighty, mostly non-combatants. After the crew of the Cantina Turner helped the Oda rebuff and eventually conquer their ancestral rivals, the Akechi, the remaining Oda relocated to the Akechi clanhold and the Oda clanhold was abandoned until it was reestablished, at least temporarily, as a village for Twi'lek freedmen.
Location
The Oda clanhold is roughly 700 km northwest of Miyagi's Landing.
Description
Nestled against a rock wall that rises a twenty meters from the swamp, the clanhold is surrounded by a wall of timber and durasteel shipping crates. There are only a few permanent structures, most of the village consists of tents made from soft Pantano timber and draped in thick eel leather; during the rainy season (well, rainier season), the swamp reclaims a decent portion of the village and these structures need to be moved to higher ground. The true boats, which lack hover technology, are kept in a marina outside the walls, while the skiffs, swamp skimmers, and airspeeders are protected within.
Behind the scenes
Since the Oda are now shaping up to be proud harpoon-wielding eel hunters, they're transitioning into a sort of pan-pacific theme, with inspirations from like the Inuit/Yupik, Japanese fishermen, and I'm sure I'll work in some Polynesian seafaring by the time it's all over. This is undoubtedly becoming a microaggression against somebody, but we'll move on to another planet before I get myself in trouble… (edit) he said, before adding an entire arc about slavery. Hopefully I never run for office, Jesus.
