Teenagers

Teenagers are like real people, but younger and more foolhardy. Caste and social station are very important to teenagers. They are certain they have life figured out, but they actually have no idea what's going on. Because they are undergoing significant physical and mental changes, teenagers are prone to emotional outbursts and unparalleled selfishness. Much like real people, teenagers like to do drugs and have sex with each other. In all of these and many other ways, teenagers are like adventurers.

Each of Faerûn's common races reach the height of adolescence at a different age. Humans and planetouched such as tieflings and genasi, typically reach adolescence after 15 years, with half-orcs tending to reach puberty sooner. Half-elves and halflings reach adolescence around their 20th year, while dwarf and gnome teenagers are actually around 40 years old. Elves and eladrin, the longest-lived of the common races, physically mature more quickly than they mature emotionally, which typically happens after 110 years of life.

Evenor Teenagers

Teenagers in Eveningstar are a vital source of information (and herb). They typically gather in places like the Lonesome Tankard, the Low Lantern, and Old Meg's Hut, places where they attempt to score alcohol and marijuana. Eveningstar's teenagers are split into three distinct castes:

  • The Nobility: Also known as the preppy kids, the nobility are (in many cases) actually nobles. They wear the newest imported fashions from Marsember, and throw the coolest parties. They sip overpriced glowing drinks and expensive champagne, and usually go "clubbing" at the Low Lantern. Teens who fall into this group include Leslie Cormaeril and her sycophants Heather (Duke), Heather (McNamara), and Heather (Chandler).
  • The Goths: These kids have dark moods and even darker clothes. They generally hang out at Old Meg's Hut or by the tomb at Pillar Rock, hoping to contact the spirits of the dead. They pay lip service to dark gods such as Bane and Shar or any of the archdemons. Eveningstar's goth kids are named Edward, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, and Emmett, and honestly believe themselves to be vampires (they aren't).
  • The Potheads: These pot-smoking teens are alleged to solve "mysteries." They usually hang out with a dire wolf that they believe can talk (he can't) in the basement of Old Meg's Hut, or can be found tripping balls (zoiks!) outside of the Lonesome Tankard (by the dumpster). They comprise Enigmas, Inc..
