Character Sheet

Lady Tessaril Winter is the former Lord of Eveningstar, who has lived for almost 120 years but doesn't look a day over 40. She is about six feet tall, with jet black hair and a curvy build like Monica Bellucci. She has a fluid, agile, silent walk, and prefers to wear simple dark robes or a leather jacket and riding-breeches. Tessaril is perceptive, considerate, and was utterly loyal to Azoun IV; some folk say she was a little too loyal to him—although Azoun often visited Eveningstar when he wanted to cast the cares of ruling aside for a time, the time when Azoun and Tessaril were paramours (allegedly) preceded the king's wedding. She gave up her adventuring career to serve the man and the village she loved, and put away thoughts of becoming a powerful wizard.

Tessaril is soft-spoken, quick to find amusement in life, and easy-going. When she gets angry, she is apt to turn white-faced and quiet. Tessaril enjoys her work; she is proud of Eveningstar's peace and beauty, as well as her friendships with Dunman and other locals. The people love her, and she knows it. When not using her spells or wits to keep watch over the village, Tessaril enjoys using spells to help or entertain children. She also enjoys dancing in the evenings, with the men of the village, many of whom are helplessly in love with her (and will fight to the death for her).

Tessaril is fond of fried snake, venison, and the amber "firewine" of Aglarond, but is quite content with more ordinary fare: roast beef or pork, and beer or the semi-sweet white wine of Sembia. Tessaril has a familiar—a "tressym" or winged cat, and is rarely found without it riding on her shoulder or purring around her feet. It insists on tasting everything the Lord drinks and eats, and has saved her from being poisoned on at least six occasions.

Tessaril wielded great magic, but with the coming of the Spellplague she has disappeared, as with many of her allies in the War Wizards (the organization of which some claim she was once a member), who can no longer come to her aid. In her absence, political enemies moved against her and she was forced to abdicate when the new king (Azoun IV's grandson) appointed Reardon Cormaeril as the Lord of Eveningstar.

Tessaril's Tower, an alabaster spire rising benevolently above the pastoral farming village, has been unoccupied for the past few months, because no one in Eveningstar but Tessaril knew how to access the inner sanctum. Rumors about its treasures are popular gossip in Eveningstar.
