Class Cleric 7 of Gond
Techsmith 5
Alignment Neutral Good

Toma Robiola was a techsmith of Gond from the island nation of Lantan. He was skilled with both siege weaponry and negotiation. Toma was instrumental in constructing many of the defenses the city of Nesmé depends on, and lived a life of decadence on royalties paid out by the clerics of Waukeen. He was killed in 1370 DR when trolls invaded Nesmé, though his workshop was miraculously undamaged. He is survived by his daughter Cassalina, who fled to Silverymoon and never returned to claim her birthright.

Toma's Workshop

All of Toma's functioning inventions were taken by his discontented apprentice, Cid, but before the techsmith's death, he had several projects yet unfinished in his laboratory. Always a forward-thinker, Toma left detailed notes so that future techsmiths could follow his designs. Some of these include:

Fantastical Footwear of Sprinting and Leaping

"For years, clerics of Shaundakul and Yondalla have been making boots of striding and springing. I, Toma Robiola, foremost craftsman in Northern Faerûn, shall demonstrate that with the aid of technology, and not magic, I can achieve the same result without requisite acrobatic abilities, and can construct such boots with equal or lesser cost."

"Initial tests proved inconclusive. The high-tension steel springs improved leaping to 143.19% expected results, but reduced mobility by 13.44%. Mithral springs increased mobility 22.78%, but the cost could prove to be prohibitively expensive."

"Today I will scrap the fantastical footwear of springing and leaping project. The test data proves my theories were correct, but if I can't reproduce the effect for a lesser cost than boots of striding and springing, I'll never be able to market them. I refuse to waste the effort, but the prototype could be completed for another 1,500 gp and 120 experience points."

These boots increase the wearer’s base land speed by 10 feet. In addition to this striding ability (considered an enhancement bonus), these boots allow the wearer to make great leaps. She can jump with a +5 competence bonus on Jump checks.
